Gear Shift

Gear Shift

Beneath the stars are stripes on strips of road all daunting,

Haunting earthly men and mortals much

Trees are meteors, with the shifter steering,

Disappearing below the withered clutch.

The foot floored the fire flower petal

Metal did that petal touch.

Touching the road were infernos turning

Burning were the fire tires, burning up with such

Icy antiquity phrozen beneath the burning clutch.

.No comet shining snow has ever burned as much.

Hey ekhosama I like the rhyme scheme of course, but the poem itself is really cool and I love the last line, great image that sticks in the mind. Sorry I took so long, very busy ;) C-ya,

Bob
